LIKE JESUS WEB

Gal. 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. Paul’s former “self,” the person Paul was before he trusted Christ, with all of his sinful goals and proud, self-exalting desires, came to a decisive end—he “died.” It is no longer I who live does not mean that Paul has no personality of his own (all his writings show that he does) but that his own personal interests and goals no longer direct his life; rather, Christ who lives in me now directs and empowers all that he does.

How then does he, as a “crucified man,” gain any strength to go on living? the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God. Paul seems to be saying that, as he trusts Christ moment by moment, Christ then works in and through Paul to give spiritual effectiveness to all that he does. who loved me and gave himself for me.

The fact that on the cross Jesus bore believers’ sins as their personal, individual substitute (“he … for me”) shows that the crucifixion was not an impersonal, mechanical transaction, but a personal expression of Christ’s love for people as individuals.

GROW

You made the most important decision of your life when you chose to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. At that moment you were born into God’s family, and you received everything you need to live the abundant Christian life.

But that does not mean you are as spiritually mature as someone who has walked with Christ for many years. The Christian life is a process that begins with an act of faith and is lived by faith.

What do you suppose would happen to a child who doesn’t grow properly in his physical body? In his emotional life? In his spiritual maturity? Just as physical life requires air, food, rest, and exercise, so does spiritual life require certain things for growth and development

Harris academy Bermondsey was the venue of ‘the best south London conference’ to-date. Rotherhithe held their annual bible conference welcoming Pastor Harold Warner and James Wilkins as their guest speakers with the message “Disciples are made not born”. Amongst other things this year’s conference was stirring, challenging and convicting as it challenged our perspective of what a disciple is and their role(s) within the church body and the world.

The conference ended on a high as the conference body saw 5 couples sent out to start new works in the following areas:

– Walworth: Pastor Allen & Hannah
– Newport: Pastor Linton & Leonie
– Thamesmead: Pastor Fredrick & Laverne
– Aylesbury: Pastor Cain & Selina
– Plaistow: Pastor Yan & Christina

All these new works are a powerful revelation of God’s purpose for us as disciples.
